Dear Alice- My question has to do with nightmares. Lately, I have had two very distinct dreams were I wake up wholly frightened. One juxtaposed the living space I WAS in with a guy and it was about a path I was thinking of taking- having to do with scuba diving. It was really scary. The other dream was in my grandparents house and anyways- can dreams also alert and warn us of paths not to take? I know that for a long time I have tried to listen as best as possible to fear that I have in relation to situations and people- and usually when I listen to the fear and don’t go into the situation I see why later, though not always. Is fear in dreams a guide to wake us up in a certain way about a situation? The dream I had last night was very good feeling, I had a baby that I had forgotten about and remembered! I also had another dream in which I was in this neighborhood I had never been too and I felt so safe and protected- and the dream said to go to a certain city. Does the city matter or the feeling of the dream? You may publish this and thank you for all your wonderful books, the latest one I read was the one in letter format, and I enjoyed it very much. Somehow, I was finally able to get that I can’t change anyone from that book, it woke me up. I also was reading about how babies need massage etc in one of the chapters before I went to bed last night which may account for the dream I had ….

AM: Thank you for this letter. I don’t want to answer your question in an abstract way. You see that you can learn much from your dreams and I wish you to to be able to continue this interesting work.
