Dear Dr. Alice Miller,

I’m a research staff of the National Institute for Japanese Language.
I’m now involved in constructing a Japanese language database at the Institute.
The database contains several hundred million words of texts,
which are of more than 20,000 authors.
Please find a short description of the project at
http://www.kokken.go.jp/en/research_projects/kotonoha/bccwj/

I would like to ask you about using a part of the Japanese translation of your
book, “Der gemiedene Schlussel” for the database.
We include only Japanese text but it is obligatory for us to gain permission
from the original author as well as the translator, under the Japanese copyright
law. The database contains only a part of the work and not the whole text from the book.
The length of the text we would like to use is about 14 pages in Japanese.
We regret that we could not offer any fee for the use of the excerpt. The database
is for mainly academic use and nonprofit.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you very much for your cooperation in advance.

Yours sincerely,
Yu MOGI

Dear Mr. Yu MOGI, Thank you for your interest. You are free to use 14 pages of the “Untouched Key” if you respect my copyright (no changes). I would be grateful if you could let me know which pages you have chosen (which isue).Sicerely, Alice Miller
