Learn your own history

Dear Dr. Miller,
I am presently embarking on a career in psychology. Your work has been a
great inspiration to me. My interest in psychology is not simply academic.
In the search for my own truth, the study of psychology and in particular
your work has fuelled a determination to help others who may be struggling
with the consequences of abuse.

Your passion in defense of the child has unlocked my own and I look forward
to a career dedicated to alleviating the suffering of children and adults
who have been victims of abuse. I intend to base my doctoral thesis on your
work.

Would it be possible to liaise with you as I continue my studies? Your
criticism and insight would be invaluable to me
