what about parts of parenting that go right?
Thursday November 22, 2007
My son sent me your book and has asked that I read this. I accept the basic premise that parents cause unintentionaly harm… but parents also contribute positively to their development. There was a divorce at age 6, I spanked occassionaly, but never beat. I never spoke negatively about their Dad… he was truly a good man with a drinking problem… and I never never ever told my children they were stupid or dumb… It was the one principle in my parenting that I was most consistent.
Do you recognize that parents may also intstill some good in their children admist some misguided parenting skills?
